Annual Plant Exchange

Saturday May 4, 2024 to Saturday May 4, 2024

Our annual Plant Exchange will take place on May 4 at Jacque' DeJesse's house. Please bring your extra plants so we can all trade them. There will be lunch and a raffles also. It is always a fun time and a chance to get new and different plants for your garden.

Jacque’ De Jesse and John Fisher will once again be hosting this year’s plant exchange on Satur-day, May 4th, rain or shine, from 12-4 PM. New members should plan to arrive at 11 am for a spe-cial gathering. Lunch will be catered from 12:00 to 12:30.

Please email or call (717-278- 4057) Dee at: WoodcrestDaylily@aol.com with your confirmation. Thank you!

Any member who joined within the last 2 years is considered to be a “new member” and as such is invited to attend the plant exchange as a special guest. That means we would like to sit down with you and answer any questions about DVDS, daylilies, and our mission. We can encourage you to find your niche in our club and introduce you to other members. We also have some gifts (daylilies) to welcome you to the club. If you have not attended the plant exchange and joined DVDS in 2022 or 2023, please let Dee, Julieta, or Anne know when you RSVP so we can prepare the gift plants.

This year we will have lunch for all the participants. We thought that having time to eat together would allow some catch-up time. I know that we always miss having that time to talk to every-body after the long winter. Please note the earlier time.
Going back to the plant exchange part, this is a chance to share the tried-and-true plants that have always performed well in your garden or those that your friends have always wanted. Maybe you have a plant from another zone or one that is unusual or prolific. And it goes without saying: everyone in this group always wants a new daylily!

Plants are grouped into categories: Annuals, Daylilies, Herbs/Vegetables, Shade Perennials, Sun Perennials, Trees/Shrubs, Tropicals, Bulbs etc. Label your plants with the common name, bloom color, size, season and your name. Plants can be bare root or contained in pots, plastic bags or newspaper. There will be a raffle and door prize drawings as well. Participants are select-ed randomly to choose plants, one per turn.
Besides plants to trade, bring a lawn chair, your wallet to buy raffle tickets and your daylily donations for the Chestnut Hill Day sale.

If you can donate any goodies, including plants for the raffle or door prizes, please let us know.
And because we are providing lunch, please RSVP at least 3 days before, please, so we can plan accordingly. We will have different offerings for people with dietary restrictions. Have questions?
